WHAT STANDS OUT? Here’s a list of things that stand out with the Scalvini 2025 Austrian 125/150cc cone pipe and silencer.
(1) Design. Scalvini pipes are beautiful, and the carbon fiber silencer is high quality with billet mounts. Scalvini supplies rubber isolator spacers to mount between the pipe brackets and frame tabs, allowing for a reduction in vibration. Scalvini chooses to use modular-type silencer mounts to allow for perfect fitment across different models. By using a few unique parts that require assembly, the silencer accommodates slight variations in manufacturing tolerances.
(2) Installation. Our test pipe came out of the package with O-rings installed for our 2025 Husky TC125 test bike. The silencer took a few minutes longer to install. We needed to crack the code on which tab goes where, inside or outside of the mount, and, wait, are we missing a bolt? The importer, Motoman Distributing, had extra hardware on hand and was quick to rectify our dilemma. In the end, it aligned perfectly, mounted securely and looked amazing.
(3) Performance. This pipe performs as well as it looks and sounds. In stock form, the KTM/Husky/GasGas 125s have excellent power delivery. There is usable, likable power that is arguably the best in the class. The Scalvini cone pipe and silencer increased the midrange and top end without changing the bottom of the power curve. Every test rider noticed a stronger midrange surge and less drop-off in over-rev. We could carry each gear longer, which allows us to delay shifting without fear of being thrown when the power signed off. Our faster riders could carry one gear higher to the top of Glen Helen’s famous Mount Saint Helen. And, the sound was music to our ears—a ringy-dingy-oh-so-singy melody that will make you smile.
(4) Pros and cons. First and foremost we admired the beauty and craftsmanship of the handmade pipe and carbon fiber silencer. The carbon silencer maintains a cooler temperature to the touch. We noticed the head pipe area hangs out farther than the OEM pipe, making it more vulnerable to damage. The silencer was a little difficult to install the first time until the mounts were aligned and adjusted correctly. As with all unfinished pipes, it will rust quickly without the proper TLC.
WHAT’S THE SQUAWK? Our silencer mount kit was missing some necessary hardware for installation. Without installation instructions, it takes a little mechanical aptitude to figure out the mounting kit.
MXA RATING: The Scalvini cone pipe will grab the attention of gawkers in the pits and improve the performance of your bike on the track. What more could we ask for?
